Our aim is to support Holy Trinity’s Mission Statement, especially the second section – Make Friends.

We also aim to listen and give emotional support to those in our congregation and in our parish who are bereaved, whatever their background, culture or religious beliefs, if any.

In their pastoral role at Holy Trinity, team members try to keep in touch with members of the congregation.

Bereavement Care: All the Pastoral Team members have been trained as bereavement visitors by Harrow Bereavement Care and some members have taken extra training to visit bereaved children and young people. They visit bereaved people in their homes or arrange to meet in the Church Centre, as well as talking with them on the phone. Visits to any one person may continue for a year or more or sometimes just be a phone call.  During this period all appointments will be by phone.

An annual Memorial Service is held jointly with St. Michael & All Angels Church, Harrow Weald, the venue alternating between the two churches. Those contacted in our parishes are invited and there is a tea afterwards to which most of the congregation stay. Many of those who have come to these services have said how much they appreciated the event and the opportunity to meet others who have had similar experiences of bereavement.

Christmas can be a painful time for many, especially those who have been bereaved, and so we offer an opportunity for remembrance. A Lights of Life tree is available at Christmas and visitors are invited to write a short memorial or thanksgiving on a card and place it on the tree, perhaps light a candle and take the opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection and remembrance.

If you would like a visit from a member of the Clergy or Pastoral team please contact us.
