Worship

“You must worship the Lord your God, and serve only Him.” Matt. 4:10

“The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him… in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The great commandment begins: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart.” This we express in our worship. But worship is more than just about our expression of our love for God, it involves a meeting with him; a taking up of relationship with him.

In worship:
 - we take up God’s invitation to come into his presence;
 - we offer to him the praises, the adoration of our hearts;
 - we allow him to sift us and work in us, allowing him into the reality of our lives;
 - then he visits us he speaks, he heals, he brings forgiveness,
  he brings salvation;
 - here we respond to his presence with a giving, a rededication our ourselves
  to his purposes.

For the church in M3 we have to encourage and facilitate different expressions of worship, so that people with different spiritualities can find a home within the church. Whatever our worship style we should meet with God in an authentic way. We should be a blessing to the Father; with our worship to bringing him pleasure and joy. We should desire to meet with God and be healed, changed, and inspired by him. We want also to be known by the community around, whatever and wherever that is, as ‘the people of the presence’ where they remark ‘God is really here among you.’ (Cf. 1 Cor. 14:24-25) God is looking for worshippers in Spirit and truth, can we be such a people?
