Fellowship

I"Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another." Heb 10:25

"You are a member of God's very own family and you belong in God's household with every other Christian." Ephesians 2:19

"Let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10

So in Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." Romans 12:5

Jesus tells us in the great commission to baptise, that is to incorporate people into the body of Christ. But why is fellowship so important? Jesus calls his disciples ‘my brothers’ – an amazing thing. We are not just part of some world wide human family, as Christians we are part of another family, the family of God, with new loyalties and new privileges. The community of the church is a central part of God’s strategy in bringing his people to wholeness and in impacting the world for his purposes.

As a church family we should ‘Serve one another’, ‘Accept one another’, ‘Forgive one another’, ‘Greet one another’, ‘Bear one another's burdens’, ‘Be devoted to one another’, ‘Honour one another’, ‘Teach one another’, ‘Submit to one another’, ‘Encourage one another’.
